Storyline

In Dalton's first 007 adventure, he is assigned to arrange the defection of Soviet General Koskov. They succeed, and Koskov informs MI6 that a KGB agent named Pushkin is attempting to murder all Britsh Secret Service agents . Bond is sent to kill him, but it is discovered that it is a ploy by Koskov to have Pushkin killed who was about to arrest him for the theft of government money. It is discovered that Koskov is helping a US arms dealer ( Brad Whitaker )in an attempt to purchase opium, that they will sell at high prices. The trail leads to an Afghan air base, where Bond persuades Kamran Shah to help him foil Koskov's ambitious scheme. They succeed and Koskow is arrested and Whitaker killed in a gun fight with Bond. Complicated to say the least !
