Welcome to the Ali's Bond Archive James Boat Boat Exhibition Page

The following is a review and pictures taken by myself on my visit to Beaulieu on April 28th, 2002 ! For further information on the exhibition, click here to be taken to the Beaulieu website.

Situated in the grounds of Beaulieu Motor Museum, the James Bond Boats Exhibition is situated in a well designed multi dome building, housing the numerous James Bond props and vehicles.
Inside, there is an array of James Bond vehicles, and props, neatly laid and explained. There are constant videos of James Bond action moments, and James Bond music pumping out of the loudspeakers throughout the experience.
Vehicle Description Prop/Gadget Description
The AMC Hornet used by James Bond and Sheriff JW Pepper in The Man With The Golden Gun. This was the car that performed the amazing 360degree flip over the old bridge ! 007's Licence To Kill ! The actual one that was revoked by M in Licence To Kill.
The Lotus Esprit used on land, and underwater by 007 and Agent XXX in The Spy Who Loved Me. Valentin Zukovsky's Caviar Tin, and a cheque for Elektra King from The World Is Not Enough

The Q Boat used in The World Is Not Enough. 007 used this boat in a high speed chase along the River Thames, and it was capable of going over land as well as in the water. A Gucci briefcase, which briefly appeared during The Man With The Golden Gun

A script, and signed book from the film Thunderball.

Spears used in the underwater fight in Thunderball.

Overall, this was a really excellent dayout, and one that i'd recommomend to any Bond fan, young or old. For a cheap entry fee, you get admission to the National Motor Museum which itself is really informative and enjoyable at the same time.

Compared to the James Bond Cars Exhibition that was on at Beaulieu during last year, this isn't quite on the same scale, however, it is a real joy to visit, and I may even go again! I was amazed at some of the actual props that were displayed, in pristine condition and been touched by the stars. As for the cars and boats, they were simply amazing. To be able to touch the Lotus Esprit, one of the most talked about vehicles to appear in any film is an honour in itself ! As I walked into the hall, there was a lad cleaning the cars, and I just thought to myself - "Its a dirty job, but someone has to do it !".

In conclusion, this is an absolute must for any Bond fan. It cronicles numerous pieces of history, and tells a story about the James Bond films in such detail, you feel you are there. So, get logged onto the Beaulieu website, and plan your day - NOW ! (I sound like a saleman now !)
