Ian Fleming - 1908 - 1964 The man behind JAMES BOND 007. Ian Fleming's first James Bond novel was Casino Royale in 1953. This began one of the most popular spy series of all time and catapulted 007 onto the big screen in 1962. I have only actually read five of the Bond novels (so far), but as I read them, I will post reviews and comments. |

A truly superb book, this book gives the reader information on numerous areas of Bond. It reviews all 19 Bond films, and has sections on Bond girls, villains, cars, gadgets, henchmen and box office results (just to name a few). Other sections include a tribute to the late Albert R Broccoli, and information on the spy culture, and other James Bonds. Also included are numerous pictures, including posters and rare shots. This book is a must for every 007 fan, young or old. It gives facts and figures that not even the most knowledgeable of 007 fans would know. In conclusion, you just have to buy this superb book ! |

Another super effort ! This book is less detailed than 'The Essential Bond', but it easily makes up for this with some superb illustrations, highlighting each films main scenes and props. This book chronicles every film, with information on the main characters, and many pictures. The obvious highlight is easily the illustrations, which are easy to read, and superbly detailed. However, you could say this book is for the younger Bond fan, as it is gives the reader a far more basic view on each of the 007 films than 'The Essential Bond'. In conclusion, this is another 'must' for Bond fans, and cannot be missed, however old or young you may be ! |
