Sunbeam Alpine - Dr No
The first car of 007 had few features, but was quick and maneuverable. It was used to good effect when it swerved under a construction crane on the island of Jamaica, which caused the explosion of the hearse carrying 'The Three Blind Mice'.
Aston Martin DB5 - Goldfinger , Thunderball , Goldeneye

Martin DBS
The ultimate 007 car. It has everything : looks, character, speed, and most of all, GADGETS ! Used mainly in 'Goldfinger', the DB5 has an array of gadgets. The list below are just some of them :
- Machine guns below front lights
- Armrest weapons control panel
- Smoke screen at the rear
- Radar display screen ( Used to track Goldfinger )
- Ejector passenger seat
- Revolving licence plates
- Bullet proof screen
- Oil ejection system
- Tyre slashing system
All of the gadgets above were featured in the film to great effect. I cannot emphasise how wonderful this car is, and without it, the James Bond series wouldn't be the same !
- The car was used in Thunderball and Goldeneye, though it only played small parts. An Aston Martin DBS was used in On Her Majesty's Secret Service.
Toyota 2000 GT - You Only Live Twice
This car wasn't actually driven by 007, though it remains a memorable James Bond car. It was used by Aki to save Bond on many occasions from Blofeld's army. It has a useful video screen inside, and is one of my personal favorites.
Ford Mustang Mach 1 - Diamonds Are Forever
This was used to great effect in 'Diamonds Are Forever'. It was used in a high speed pursuit in the streets of Las Vegas, and left many Police cars wrecked. However, it will be remembered for the stunt where Bond tilted it sideways on two wheels to squeeze through a tight alley way.
AMC Hornet Hatchback - The Man With The Golden Gun
Used in 'The Man With The Golden Gun', the AMC Hornet wasn't built by Q branch, hence the lack of gadgets. It was stolen by Bond from a car showroom, to aid his pursuit of Scaramanga, who has kidnapped Mary Goodnight. However, he was joined by one of his old friends - Sheriff JW Pepper ! Like the Ford Mustang above, the AMC Hornet performed another memorable stunt. This time, the car did a 360-degree jump over an abandoned bridge, which many Bond fans will say is the best ever 007 stunt.
Lotus Esprit - The Spy Who Loved Me
Once again, Q Branch doesn't fail to impress with another ingenious car invention. This time, it was a Lotus Esprit, that was capable of traveling under water ! Like the Aston Martin DB5, it will be remembered for years to come for it's uniqueness. Here are some of the gadgets used in the film :
- Small periscopeused to navigate
- Smoke screen
- Front mounted rockets
- Mine dispenser
- Surface to Air missile system ( used to kill off Naomi in her helicopter )
- Rear cannons used to spray chasing vehciles with cement
