The World is Not Enough - Bond film number 19, out on Nov 26th, 1999
The plot for this 19th 007 adventure is based around the oil dealings of Elektra King, daughter of a wealthy oil tycoon. She links up with Renard, ( one of the MI6's long time enemies ) who abducts her and talks her into killing her father and taking the helm of King Industries. She successfully does this and goes about making more and more money, at the cost of lifes. She plots to blow up one of Europe's main oil lines, therefore meaning she will have total control of oil going into Europe through her oil pipes. However, Bond and his 'friend' Christmas Jones have other ideas...........
With some stunning special affects, this Bond movie is without a doubt the most advanced of all Bond films. With a stunning chase down the River Thames, an amazing leap out of a Bilbao building and a quite unbelievable chase on mountainous ski slopes, the audience are constantly on the edge of their seats, 'joining in' with the action as it unfolds. James Bond ( Pierce Brosnan ) is as witty as ever and comes across as quite humorous at points. He puts some of Q's XRAY glasses to good use at a dinner party and the BMW Z8 ( pictured above ) is used to it's limits in a 'battle' on a set of piers. Overall, this is a quite stereotypical Bond movie, though it is once again a magnificent example of Bond at his best. Lets just hope Brosnan will stay on for just a few more because he plays 007 with quite accurate class and charm.
